Job Description

The Epoxy Interest Group (EIG) of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), is seeking a Technical Marketing Manager to serve its national organization. The Epoxy Interest Group (EIG) promotes and markets fusion bonded epoxy coated steel bars (FBECR) and creates awareness and interest in epoxy coated reinforcing steel and its important benefits for DOT’s, engineering specifiers and contractors.

The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is a technical institute and Standards Developing Organization (SDO) that stands as the authoritative resource for information related to steel reinforced concrete construction. CRSI offers many industry-trusted technical publications, standards documents, design aids, reference materials and educational opportunities.

Highlights:
  • Serve as the primary CRSI staff contact responsible for relationship development within the EIG of CRSI.
  • Home office-based work with a minimum of 40% national travel.
  • Positively impact the use of Epoxy Coated Steel Reinforcing Bars (FBECR) materials and steel reinforced concrete construction in transportation and other target markets.
  • Report to the EIG Steering Committee and Danielle Kleinhans, President and CEO within a supportive organization.
How You’ll Contribute:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel within the transportation community to promote the use and advantages of epoxy-coated reinforced steel.
  • Design, develop and present on the use and performance of various corrosion resistant materials as directed by the EIG steering committee.
  • Develop content for print and digital publications including newsletters, advertising materials, and website content that maintains brand.
  • Participate in technical committees covering durability of concrete structures.
  • Report routine feedback to EIG organization on operation and insight activities.
  • Assist with the development of research programs.
  • Develop long term relationship strategy in coordination with the EIG steering committee.
  • Develop and maintain operations within budgets.

Experience and Skills

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or in Business, specifically in Sales or Marketing; Professional Engineering designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural design or construction management preferred. Experience in the transportation sector (bridges or pavements) would be beneficial.
  • Experience/exposure to DOT’s across the U.S. as well as technical board exposure (i.e. ASTM, ACI).
  • Experience working through consensus, collaboration and committee processes.
  • Experience in public speaking, group presentations, or project promotion strongly desired.
  • Skilled in providing promotion, education, technical assistance, communication, member services and coordination of activities as needed.
  • Comfortable with heavy, mostly pre-planned travel schedule; with ideal home office location close to major airports.
