New ASTM 1124 is a major advancement in durability and longevity. This technology provides bond performance equal to uncoated reinforcement while providing the corrosion protection of ASTM A775 epoxy coating.
THE A1124 PROCESS:
Immediately following application of the base epoxy coating to the heated reinforcing bar, a new second layer of the epoxy coating with a controlled textured surface is sprayed on.
These two epoxy layers gel and cure simultaneously and are chemically bonded to one another during the curing process, forming a single, cross-linked epoxy coating system.

SUSTAINABLE:
The only rebar coating made from manufacturing byproducts – Upcycled instead of landfilled
DEVELOPMENT LENGTH:
A1124 has a development length equivalent to uncoated reinforcement bars.
DAMAGE TOLERANCE:
A1124 has an enhanced damage-tolerant surface that protects the A775 epoxy base layer.
FLEXIBILITY:
ASTM A1124 meets the same flexibility requirements as ASTM A775, allowing reinforcing bars to be bent to shape after coating without coating damage.
STABLE IN CONCRETE:
Epoxy does not require chromate passivation or admixtures to prevent bond-reducing reactions in curing concrete.
LONGER LIFE:
The combination of all the above features leads to a longer lifespan of your projects.
